Isn’t it sad, that a human, who is a sinner himself, thinks he can set standards for God’s forgiveness?

If the Pope would just read his Bible, he would find that forgiveness is available freely to people who directly petition Jesus for the
pardon He offers.

1 Timothy 2:5 “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.”

No one needs to get “salvific” forgiveness from another human. Furthermore, the Pope is saying this forgiveness is only available for the coming year. Does the Pope see himself as a higher authority than Jesus? It seems that way. Abortion is a devastating sin, but it is still just another sin, and there is no sin that can’t be forgiven through the complete and sufficient redemptive work of Jesus.

Mark 3:28 “Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter.”

The fact is that we are all sinners and we are all guilty of all sins.

James 2:10 “For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.”

It’s meant to be that way so that there is no competition among us. For, “We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of
God.” -Romans 3:23

There is only one requirement to receive the pardon for sin offered freely by Jesus.

Romans 10:9 (NKJV) “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

The Pope needs to come to a true understanding of grace.
